J-Rod’s Week 4 Section 9 Power Rankings

  1. Newburgh (3-0): Linebacker Derek Iorlano making plays for the Goldbacks….and he’s a pretty good quote.
  2. Cornwall (3-0): Cornwall can achieve one of coach Mike Connolly’s preseason goals with a win over Newburgh: Get ranked No. 1 in J-Rod’s power rankings.
  3. MonroeWoodbury (2-1): It’s starting to look like it might be Newburgh and M-W in Class AA with the rest of the field chasing the perennial powers.
  4. New Paltz (3-0): Sophomore free safety Aidan Hoffman already has four interceptions for New Paltz.
  5. Marlboro (30): Only three weeks until Section 9’s version of Mayweather vs. McGregor – New Paltz vs. Marlboro. Paging Mills Lane (Google him).
  6. Pine Bush (2-1): As an experiment, we should let the rabid fans heckling Pine Bush coach Jim Wright during last week’s Newburgh debacle put on the head set and coach this week. Everyone thinks they are Urban Meyer.
  7. Warwick (30): Warwick feeling good at 3-0 for first time in three years.
  8. Port Jervis (30): Michael Piscitelli a chip off the ol’ brother, making plays like his brother, Jack did for Port a few years back.
  9. Valley Central (1-2): Vikings need a win over Minisink Valley on Friday or they might get bounced from the rankings.
  10. Washingtonvile (12): Still might not have seen the best of The Original Ville yet.
