J-Rod’s Championship Week Top 10 rankings

  1. Newburgh (8-1): Your friends may have rolled their eyes when you picked RB Gianni Hill over Saquon Barkley in your fantasy draft, but you sure look good now.

  2. Cornwall (8-0): Has posted a shutout in the Section playoffs for the last three years and none was as dominant as the Minisink job last week.

  3. Marlboro (8-1): We knew RB Ameer Williams was a player, but he officially arrived in dominating semifinal win over Burke Catholic.

  4. Monroe-Woodbury (6-3): Plenty of prime time performances last weekend and QB Steven Campione played as good as anyone with the help of a fearless OL and deep group of WR’s.

  5. Minisink Valley (6-3): Played as well as any team in the first half of the season, but just ran into the buzz saw that is Cornwall in Class A semis.

  6. O’Neilll (7-2): Has quietly reached the Class B championship, but the fearless Raiders certainly won’t go away quietly.

  7. New Paltz (5-4): RB Mike Pisciotta has proved that one tough, gritty, selfless player can change the complexion of a team.

  8. Goshen (6-2): The Year of Matty Ice was a season of redemption for the Gladiators, one they should certainly be proud of.

  9. Pine Bush (4-5): QB Haakon Meland closed out his four-year career with a brilliant game in loss to M-W in Class AA semis.

  10. Burke Catholic (5-4); Warwick (5-4); Chester (7-2): A rare three-way tie for the No. 10 spot.
